Nike’s Best Digital Marketing Campaigns in recent years : Nike is one of the brands which have used their digital marketing strengths to get a great deal of brand exposure in the recent years.

1)Fuel Your Team

Nike used its social media platform to run this interactive campaign. It has more than six million members currently who have liked this campaign. Nike has digitally linked their wide range of training products with Nike+FuelBand.  There are provisions to accumulate “Nike Fuel Points” , set goals to compete with others users which makes this much more interesting.


This video became viral when it got released and had a lot of views in a limited period of time.


This campaign is an example of how Nike uses mobile to involve its customers in its marketing campaigns. Though this campaign lost its fame after the downfall of Armstrong, it created an impact among the customers.

The ultimate aim of this project is to give messages of hope, inspiration, support and perseverance to the participants of the cycle race, encouraging them to push a bit more in their races to complete their race with excellence. A ‘chalkbot’ was used to automatically paint personalized messages in the cycling tracks to encourage people. After the impressions were made on the road, it took pictures of road and logged the time and GPS location then sent it to the users. The money raised with the help of this campaign was used for noble causes(Armstrong foundation gained benefit out of this campaign)

The campaign was extremely effective, generating $4 Mn with 46% increase in sales which was used by Armstrong foundation to fight cancer.


3)The Chance

This campaign is aimed at the youth population of the world which gives an excellent opportunity for the winners to be a part of Nike Academy for a year. Facebook , Twitter and Youtube made a buzz among the youth for this campaign supported by Nikefootball.com for a period of six months in 2010.


4)The Chosen

This campaign was launched in 2011 with more focus on social media. This initiative first premiered in Facebook for a period of three days, later on introduced in television with a 90 second video. This campaign called for people to submit their own videos for niche sports.  This campaign was created as an initiative to support niche sports like snowboarding , BMX , skating etc.



And finally, this is one of the best viral marketing campaigns and a memorable one from Nike. This video was viewed more than million times in youtube even though it is fake. This is just because the video was simply awesome. It showed Ronaldinho , the footballer of the year receiving a new football boots before casually volleying the ball across the crossball repeatedly  from the edge.
